There's a lot trig happening behind the scenes. It's actually very impressive to me that a CNC control can make all those calculations fast enough so that the machine motion is smooth. This takes all considerations of the actual machine kinematics away from your cam system and puts that burden on the CNC control. The rotation angles are calculated as if the tool control point is also the center of rotation for ALL rotary axes. So the code that your cam system outputs is calculated as if the part is completely stationary while the tool linearly traverses in X, Y, Z. With TCP these calculations are made by the control. If your machine doesn't support TCP then your cam system can output proper machine motion as long as you give it accurate data about the machine and the location of the part relative to the center of rotation for both rotary axes. If you are not used to using TCP this can cause unexpected moves. (Slightly different setup commands apply to iphone/ipad and mac versions.) The Hotswitch feature is essentially a preset-within-each-preset that allows you to map. TCP is mostly used for 5 axis paths but can also be used for 3+2 paths.
